About Green Planet Awards

The Green Planet Awards was founded by a few concerned like-minded individuals as a non-profit eco-initiative in response to a new-found awareness of the environmental plight facing our planet today.

From watching environmental programs on Supreme Master Television, a new “green” eco-TV channel airing on Ireland’s SKY channel 835, we realized how little the true facts on the causes of climate change are disseminated through the mainstream media, the education system, the government, etc. Inspired by the channel, we received permission to use their footage and associated them with this year’s Eco-eating competition.

Following our own research to validate the facts aired on Supreme Master Television, we found a wealth of scientific research regarding human impacts on the environment and human health, from various sources such as the United Nations Intergovernmental panel on Climate Change, NASA’s climate research department, papers released from climate scientists from across the globe to medical professors and eminent medical research scientists, etc.

The magnitude and implications of these facts regarding our future survival and quality of life on this planet culminated in the creation of the Green Planet Awards. We hope that through these awards more people will discover the most critical issues adversely affecting our environment, our climate and ultimately our wellbeing and survival, thus raising awareness necessary to halt climate change, and meanwhile buy us precious time to develop and integrate technologies that can maintain and sustain a comfortable and healthy future life for humans, animals and our planet.
